He hailed from Punjab and was a sepoy in the 7/8 Sikh Regiment of the British Indian Army which surrender in Singapore to the Japanese. He joined Azad Hind Fauj as sepoy in the Guerrilla Regiment. He fought the British in Burma and dead in battle field at Mitha Haka in 1944.
