Guinness World Record for India: 78,220 people waved the Indian National Flag in one location

The spirit of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav was celebrated in a landmark event wherein India achieved another milestone on Saturday 23rd April 2022. 78,220 people simultaneously waved the Indian National Flag in Jagdishpur, Bhojpur district of Bihar, India. The event was chaired by the Hon’ble Minister of Home Affairs and Cooperation, Shri Amit Shah.
The event ‘Vijay Utsav’ was organized to celebrate the contribution of great freedom fighter Babu Veer Kunwar Singh. Organized under the aegis of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav, the event indicated the vision of the Government of India to revive the valour of freedom fighters in India’s freedom struggle.
The town of Jagdishpur holds the memory of the contribution of Veer Kunwar Singh against the British rulers. He led a battle near Jagdishpur on 23rd April 1858 and defeated the East India Company. He brought down the British empire’s flag from Jagdishpur Fort. Later he returned to his palace and died on April 26th, 1858.
Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav is an initiative by the Government of India to commemorate and celebrate India’s 75 glorious years of Independence. This initiative also celebrates the contribution of India’s unsung heroes in the freedom struggle which led to India’s independence in 1947.
