Prime Minister Narendra Modi to inaugurate ‘Biplobi Bharat Gallery’ on the occasion of Shaheed Diwas

Shaheed Diwas is celebrated on 23rd March across the country in the remembrance of those three brave revolutionaries of India – Bhagat Singh, Rajguru, and Sukhdev, marking an important chapter in the journey of India’s freedom struggle. In 1931, these revolutionaries sacrificed their lives to see an independent and free India.
To mark this occasion this year, the Hon’ble Prime Minister is going to inaugurate “Biplobi Bharat Gallery” at Victoria Memorial Hall, Kolkata on 23rd March 2022. This Gallery displays the story of the revolutionaries and their armed resistance to British colonial rule. During this inauguration, the PM shall also address the gathering virtually.
Several other events are scheduled to take place at 14 locations to commemorate Shaheed Diwas. The event locations are:
- Chandni Chowk, New Delhi
- Kakori Railway Station, Uttar Pradesh
- Gonda Jail, Uttar Pradesh
- Bengali Tola Inter College, Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh
- Jallianwala Bagh, Amritsar, Punjab
- Hussainwala, Punjab
- Port Blair-Cellular Jail, Andaman & Nicobar Islands
- Sri Aurobindo Ashram, Puducherry
- Castle, Mumbai, Maharashtra
- Fergusson College, Pune, Maharashtra
- Savarkar House, Nasik, Maharashtra
- MS University, Vadodara, Gujarat
- Victoria Memorial, Kolkata, W Bengal
- Kangla Fort, Manipur
These events will have a Prabhat Feri in the morning and will be followed by a Nukkad Natak to grasp the attention of the spectators. Post this, a candle-lighting ceremony is scheduled to take place as a tribute to all the revolutionaries.
As India is also celebrating Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav (AKAM) to commemorate 75 years of Independence, a special screening of a film on AKAM is scheduled to take place. This will be followed by a short film on ‘Digital Jyot’.
Several other cultural programs will also be a part of this event that include motivational poem recitations and patriotic song presentations as well.
