Community based traditional events celebrated under Poshan Abhiyan

Punjab

May 12, 2022

Celebrated CBE (community-based events) in Block Morinda District Rupnagar. The Ministry of Women and Child Development, Government of India under POSHAN Abhiyan has directed the State/UT governments for organizing community-based traditional events to promote and support behavior change, improve maternal
and child nutrition, and increase awareness among the stakeholders. Each AWC will organize one CBE community-based event every month and ₹250/- shall be reimbursed for the same.

The primary focus of the community-based events is to take advantage of traditional celebrations of
milestones in the mother or a child’s life beginning with conception, prenatal, neonatal, and the first
two years. Use these as opportunities to promote the adoption of positive behavior. The themes under community-based events are associated with maternal, newborn/children health, and nutrition to advise pregnant women and key members of their families on nutrition and health care practices important for a safe pregnancy.
