Celebrating 75 Years of Independence - Vishwa Guru Bharat, Atmanirbhar Bharat and India's Cultural Heritage
(i) 15 August 2021: Mission has planned a Flag Hoisting Ceremony at India House in Berne in a hybrid format with limited physical participation of prominent members of Indian Diaspora. The flag hoisting ceremony will be followed by honouring the recipient of Pravasi Bhartiya Samman Award 2021 from Switzerland. A cultural programme has also been planned. Ambassador will deliver a special address on the occasion highlighting various themes of AKAM. The photos and videos of the event will be publicized on social media platforms.
(ii) 18 August 2021: Two National Day Receptions are being organized on 18 August 2021 at India House in which Senior Swiss Government Officials, Heads of Diplomatic Missions, Indian and Business communities are being invited. During these events, India's growth and development stories, self-reliance and cultural heritage will be highlighted as part of India@75 celebrations.
(iii) Mission has planned two events - India@75 - Celebration of India Days at Interlaken and St. Moritz on 22 August and 25 August respectively. In these two events, Mission will be showcasing Incredible India Tourism, Yoga & Ayurveda, Indian Textiles and handicrafts, Make in India, Indian Tea & Wine.
EoI Berne Rashtragaan Indian Diaspora in Switzerland India@75
During all the events, the special videos of XP Division and ICCR will be screened.
(i) On this occasion, a special video has been created with the video clips of members of Indian Diaspora rendering Rashtragaan. The link is attached.
(ii) Mission has initiated a series of events to mark the occasion of India@75 in form of Celebration of India Days in various cities of Switzerland.
Name(s) of the illuminated building/buildings: Mission has finally planned to illuminate the Chancery Building located at Kirchenfeldstrasse 28, CH 3005 Berne.
