Hindi Kavya Sandhya at the Consulate in celebration of Hindi Diwas saw enthusiastic participation by community members. The Indian-origin Member of Parliament of Western Australia, Dr Jags MLA recited one of the Kurals from ancient classic Tamil literature Thirukkural and translated the same in Hindi for the participants. Hindi Samaj of WA, which has been engaged in the promotion of the Hindi language in WA for more than 25 years, extended generous support for this special event. A special thanks to Abhishek Mishra for his outstanding support and coordination in realizing this community initiative, and to all the participants for their literary contributions. The evening included poetry recital by Anchala Mahendru, Rajyashree Malviya, Tejinder Dalal, Chitranjan Pathak, Akshi Kohli, Rita Kaushal, Kushal Kushlendra, Laxmi Tiwari, Amar J Singh, Richa Vinod, Sangita Bansal, Manoj Joy, Ranna Mehta, Amit Mehta, Yatendra Sharma, Amruta Kulkarni, Anshul Bajpai, Pt. Vimlesh Shukla, Prasanna Dixit, and Abhishek Mishra. On the occasion, the Consul General honoured and felicitated the community’s published authors and poets from Western Australia in various Indian languages comprising Chitta Ranjan Pathak, Rita Kaushal, Kushal Kushalendra, Laxmi Tiwari, Dr Aparna Baruah, Nilesh Makwana, Kaanchanapalli Govardhan Raju, Sowmya Sri Rallabhandi, Manoj Joy, Padmini Emaneni, Prof. Jaya Dantas, Sangita Bansal, Indira Chanda, Amit Mehta, Ranna Mehta, Yatendra Sharma, Shaju Francis, Shiji Arun, Shayama Anandan, Shiju Kolanchery, Shoma Mittra, and Abhishek Mishra.
