DIGITAL NORTH EAST- Inauguration of NIELIT CENTRES
Sh Rajeev Chandrasekhar, Hon'ble Minister of State, Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology today inaugurated the new building of Churachandpur (Manipur) NIELIT centre. Apart from physically inaugurating Churachandpur NIELIT Centre, Sh Rajeev Chandrasekhar also virtually inaugurated NIELIT Centres at Kokrajhar and Tezpur in (Assam); and upgraded two existing Centres at Imphal in (Manipur) and Aizawl in (Mizoram).
Sh Chandrasekhar also interacted with students from all five NIELIT centres today through Virtual Conference. The NIELIT Centre, Churachandpur is the second centre of NIELIT in Manipur with a sprawling campus of about 4.13 acres of land provided by the Government of Manipur. It has 8 laboratories, two class rooms and has annual training capacities of 600 students.
Government of India in collaboration with the States will make the NIELIT centres job creation centres. MeitY has also implemented some programmes relating to job creation including BPOs, and in that line, is looking to create jobs in IT and Electronics Manufacturing Industry. Over 5 lakh new jobs have been created in Information Technology and over 3 lakh jobs in Electronic Manufacturing this year in India.
National Institute of Electronics & Information Technology, an Autonomous Scientific Society under the administrative control of Ministry of Electronics & Information Technology, Government of India, was set up to carry out Human Resource Development and related activities in areas of Information, Electronics & Communications Technology.
