The Embassy of India in Reykjavik observed the 73rd Republic Day of India at the Chancery premises on 26 January 2022. Shri B. Shyam, Ambassador of India to Iceland hoisted the National Flag at 10:30 hrs which was followed by the singing of the National Anthem. Ambassador addressed the gathering and read out the President’s Address to the Nation. Owing to a sudden surge in the Covid-19 cases in Iceland, to contain the spread of the Covid-19 virus, the Government of Iceland restricted the number of persons in gatherings to 10. Hence, the event was held in a hybrid model and the Indian community was invited to join the celebrations virtually.
