Amb Sanjay Kumar Verma together with Dr. Minoru Terano, President of Japan Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (JAIST), launched a device, using RICCA technology, invented by a team led by Dr. Manish Biyani, an Indian scientist in Japan, on 19Jan 2022 at JAIST, Ishikawa. The device is capable of detecting SARS-CoV-2 virus variants on-site and in 15-30 minutes and would start the trial in India soon. It is a part of the AMED-India project, promoting S&T partnership in the 70th year of establishment of bilateral diplomatic relations.
