Naik Khachedu ji of the Indian Army was born on August 25, 1915 in Dera village of Delhi. His father’s name was Shri Vijay Singh. He got his education till the third grade. He served in the 1/8 Punjab Regiment of the Indian Army as Lance Naik. In 1942, he joined the Azad Hind Fauj in Singapore. There he worked as a constable in the number 1 brave company. While in the Subhash Brigade, he took an active part in the Battle of Booty. Khachedu ji remained in the custody of the British for 8 months.
