1857 Revolt & Mangli Village, A story of nationalism and communal unity

After the 1857 Revolt in Meerut, four soldiers took refuge in Mangali village, as a result, the British government arrested some of the people of this village and put them in Hisar and Thanesar jails. In protest against this repression, the people of Mangali organized an attack on Hisar Jail on 29  May 1857. In 12 Englishmen were killed and the captive villagers were freed. In return, on 21 June 1857 AD, the English troops attacked

Mangali with full force. In which hundreds of people were martyred. In August 1857, the British were attacked under the leadership of Mohammad Asim, the prince of Mangali village. In this attack, 500 heroes of Mangali village sacrificed their lives. On September 11, 1857, the English government burnt Mangali village. The land was confiscated and the survivors were fined. Even in the freedom movement of 1947, 26 people of this village sacrificed their lives for the country.
