March 28, 2024 to March 28, 2025

Kamleshwari Prasad Yadav was born on 4 January 1902, in Chatra village, Madhepura district, Bihar. Educated in Patna and BHU, he earned degrees in Political Science, Hindi, and Law. Despite the allure of a promising career, Yadav dedicated himself to the freedom movement, notably during the Civil Disobedience Movement and the Quit India Movement. His activism spanned regions like Madhepura, Khagaria, Munger, Bhagalpur, and Purnia, where he fearlessly championed the cause of independence. Elected to the Bihar Provincial Assembly in 1937, he later became a member of the Constituent Assembly in 1946, contributing significantly to the drafting of India's Constitution.

His leadership extended beyond politics. Kamleshwari Prasad founded educational institutions, including KP College in Murliganj, and advocated for infrastructure development, such as the Madhepura-Murliganj railway line. His efforts drew attention to issues like flood devastation in the Kosi area, ing intervention from figures like Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru.

Despite enduring imprisonment and house arrest during British rule, Yadav's resolve remained unshaken.

Kamleshwari Prasad Yadav passed away on 15 November 1989.
