Mohanlal Prithviraj Shah was born on 17 April 1923 at Deheri in Umbargaon Talukain Gujrat State. This village has boundary of Bordi village which is in Maharashtra. He took his primary education at Sunabai Pestanji Hakimji High School, Bordi.He was living in the Jain hostel at Bordi. This building was earlier used as Gandhi Ashram. He was impressed by Acharya Bhise Guruji who was leading the freedom movement in Bordi. Mohanlal plunged intothe freedom struggle. He was taking an active part in morning rounds, chanting anti-government slogans, distributing bulletins, etc. Though he was a student in 1942, he took an active part in the Quit India movement by doing Satyagraha at Bordi. For that, he was immediately arrested and sentenced to imprisonment. He was in Thane Central Jail for 9 months. After his release from imprisonment, he did social service work in the Deheri area.

Mohanlal used to serve Dalits in his Deheri localities. He was associated with many educational institutions. And he used to take an active part in education work. Those who participated in the freedom struggle and devoted their lives to constructive work.

Mohanlal Prithviraj Shah passed away on 28 November 1996.
